How Can I Know I Am Saved?
Becoming a Christian is not about becoming religious. It is about being reconciled to God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus loved you so much that He willingly gave His life for you. The Bible explains how you can have your sins forgiven and receive eternal life through Him.
Salvation Is Found in Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born of the virgin Mary. He came to reveal God and redeem sinful men. Through His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead, He fully completed the work necessary for our salvation.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6, KJV
How to Have a Personal Relationship With Jesus
If Jesus Christ returned today, do you know for certain that you would go to Heaven with Him? God has not left us to wonder. His Word shows us the way.
Realize That God Loves You
God loves you and has a purpose for your life. His love was demonstrated when He gave His only begotten Son for you.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16, KJV
Recognize That All Have Sinned
Our sins have separated us from God. God created man in His own image and gave us the ability to choose right from wrong, but every one of us has chosen to sin.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23, KJV
Understand That Sin Must Be Paid For
A wage is a payment. The payment for our sin is death and eternal separation from God. We cannot remove that penalty through good works, religion, or our own efforts.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23, KJV
Believe That Christ Paid for Your Sins
Jesus Christ took our sins upon Himself and paid our debt on the cross. He died, was buried, and rose again. He is alive forevermore, and the work of salvation is complete.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8, KJV
Repent and Call Upon Christ by Faith
Repentance is a change of mind and heart toward God and sin. Turn to Jesus Christ and place your faith in Him alone to forgive you and save you.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Acts 3:19, KJV
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13, KJV
Will You Receive Christ as Your Saviour?
A prayer does not save you; Jesus Christ does. Salvation is received when you honestly turn to Him and trust Him alone. If the following prayer expresses the desire of your heart, you can speak to Him now:
“Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I cannot save myself. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again. Please forgive my sin, come into my life, and be my Saviour. Help me to live for You from this day forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
A New Life in Christ
Everlasting life begins when you receive Christ as your Saviour. If you have trusted Him today, we would love to rejoice with you and help you begin growing in your new life with Christ.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13, KJV
Do You Have Questions?
If you have trusted Christ today, still have questions about salvation, or would like someone to speak with you privately, we would be glad to help and show you more from the Bible.
