What if today could be

A Fresh Start

Your past does not have to determine your future.

Maybe you wish you could begin again. The Bible offers something even greater than another chance to improve your old life. Jesus Christ offers an entirely new life.

You Do Not Have to Remain the Same

Most of us have something we wish we could undo. There are words we would take back, choices we would make differently, and parts of our lives we would gladly leave behind. We may promise ourselves that tomorrow will be different, only to discover that our best intentions cannot change what is within us.

The fresh start God offers is more than turning over a new leaf, improving your habits, or becoming more religious. It is a new life made possible through Jesus Christ.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Jesus Christ can forgive your past, change your eternal future, and make you a new creature. But before we can understand this new life, we must recognize why we need it.

Our greatest problem is not simply that we have made mistakes or experienced difficult circumstances. Our greatest problem is sin, and no amount of self-improvement can remove it.

A true fresh start begins by seeing our sin as God sees it and turning to the Saviour He provided.

Where Does a Fresh Start Begin?

The Bible gives a clear answer. New life begins when we recognize our sin and place our faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Realize You Are a Sinner

A fresh start begins with honesty. God is holy, and every one of us has broken His law. Our sins may not all look the same, but none of us has met God’s perfect standard. We must recognize our sinful condition before we can understand our need for a Saviour.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

Understand Sin’s Penalty

Sin separates us from God, and its rightful penalty is death. A new resolution, good works, religion, baptism, or better behavior cannot erase our guilt. We cannot repair our relationship with God by ourselves.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Believe Christ Paid the Price

God did not leave us without hope. Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God, took our place upon the cross. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. He fully paid the debt we could never pay and made new life possible.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Receive Salvation by Faith

Salvation is God’s gift. It cannot be earned or deserved. It is received when you turn to Jesus Christ and trust Him alone to forgive your sin and save you. He does not merely help you improve your old life; He gives you new life in Him.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8–9

Your new life can begin today

Call Upon the Lord

Salvation is not found in repeating special words or performing a religious ceremony. It is a matter of placing your faith in Jesus Christ. Come to Him honestly, admitting your sin and trusting completely in His death, burial, and resurrection as the only payment for your salvation.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
